The Junior Counselor Program at The Quad Manhattan Summer Program is designed for 2e teens & young adults who are eligible for work with any US employer. The teens at Quad Manhattan may choose to gain additional mentoring experience while exploring paid internship-like projects within their specific talent domains. In this part time position, the teens may continue to support classes of importance to their areas of interest while also working with talent development teachers to score opportunities inside and outside of camp. They may also choose to work with teachers to support them in summer classes at local university and college partner programs. Core psychosocial activities may include resume and portfolio writing, interviewing skills, and more.

The Quad Manhattan partners with your school's transition team to first find out your child's transition planning needs and hosts a brainstorming session to review the course catalogue and decide where to focus. Teens will leave with a performance review from camp leaders in the following indicator domains:

  • leadership

  • collaboration/teamwork

  • autonomy

  • organization, attendance, and punctuality (EF)

  • professionalism

  • portfolio development
