Reopening Plan: What We Know so Far

Safety is our number one priority for all campers every year at The Quad Manhattan Summer Program. We take pride each summer in our facility, care, and management of materials to provide a clean and organized program for our campers. In 2021 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, The Quad Manhattan is adopting additional procedures and taking extra precautions to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 and keep our campers safe.

Although our safety and reopening plan is still under careful consideration, there are some aspects of reopening we are sure to have in place, aligned with the NYS Regulations and NYC Recommendations and Requirements for camp reopening. Read the bullets below for a few of the expectations:

  • All children will be required to wear masks except during in-pool and meal times

  • All children will be required to maintain social distance whenever and wherever possible

  • The Quad Manhattan will double the size of each classroom to accommodate social distancing requirements

  • Classes will be scheduled according to an effort to minimize cross exposure

  • All families will be required to complete a daily screening (virtual) as well as a curb-side screening with temperature check prior to entering the building

  • No visitors will be allowed on campus

  • Pick up and drop off will be completed curb side at our private entrance exclusive to The Quad Manhattan staff and students on Pine Street

  • The Quad Manhattan will employ sufficient staff to supervise socially distanced arrival and dismissal procedures

  • The Quad Manhattan will employ separate security staff for our private entrance

  • Regular pool testing of campers and staff will be employed to gauge the community's exposure and potential exposures at camp

  • A negative PCR test will be required to readmit to the program after a quarantine has been completed for any individuals who have been exposed, tested positive, and given instructions to quarantine from the Health Department

  • All individuals who have been exposed to Covid-19 or have tested positive must comply with the most current state regulations for quarantine and testing procedures

  • At the time of this post, there are no requirements to receive the Covid-19 vaccine for either staff or students. However, we encourage each family to make a decision that best suits their needs. A positive test or instructed quarantine from the Health Department will not warrant reimbursement for camp tuition and tuition may not be prorated for time missed due to quarantine.

We look forward to a safe and engaging summer with our students at The Quad Manhattan in 2021 and can't wait to get started on the fun! More information is to follow on our entire reopening plan. The Quad Manhattan intends to invite our entire community to an informational webinar which will include all the details related to the reopening plan. Details and dates to follow.
